Pluto TV fue lanzada en 2014 y, desde entonces, ha ofrecido todo su contenido de forma gratis y es una buena alternativa para ver TV online. Desde marzo de este año 2020 también está disponible en América latina, y se pretende que a finales de año se amplié por Brasil. En España se pueden ver los contenidos de Pluto TV a través de la aplicación compatible con televisores inteligentes Samsung, Vizio y Sony, ya que son compatibles. También con Apple TV, dispositivos con Android TV y con el Amazon Fire TV. La aplicación tiene más o menos la misma interfaz en todos estos dispositivos.
No hay ningún problema de legalidad con esta plataforma de contenidos. Este servicio es totalmente legal, ya que los canales que ofrece Pluto TV están todos en línea y no son de pago. Son simplemente acuerdos a los que llegan. Además, se beneficia de los anuncios que hay, su principal fuente de ingresos proviene de la publicidad que vende en todos los canales.
Programación
Su programación es muy extensa, y, para mayor comodidad del usuario, está todo organizado por categorías. De manera que desde su central de navegación se pueden ver todas las categorías de la TV en vivo. Su principal atractivo son las películas online, entretenimiento, deportes, comedia, etc. Se puede acceder fácilmente con tan solo unos clics.

En 2020, Pluto TV modificó la interfaz para que la experiencia del usuario sea mucho más dinámica y fluida.
