La inteligencia artificial ya va cruzando otras fronteras de la tecnología, algunas un tanto extrañas y extravagantes como son las nuevas novias virtuales Gatebox diseñada especialmente para japoneses.

Las novias virtuales Gatebox tienen la apariencia física de unas cafeteras eléctricas, poseen un cilindro de vidrio en el centro en el que se proyecta la imagen holográfica de un asistente virtual como Siri, Cortana o Alexa, pero con esa apariencia física que permite interactuar de una manera más natural.

Gatebox, viene con una de las novias virtuales pre-instaladas, se trata del personaje Azuma Kikari y puede ser utilizado para automatizar cualquier proceso del hogar en el que intervenga cualquier dispositivo conectado como luces, alarmas, smart TV, frigoríficos y lavadoras conectadas… en fin, todo aquello que puede hacer la Siri de Apple por ejemplo.

Un video promocional muestra a la novia virtual Gatebox actuando muy natural y cumpliendo varias funciones, en el que un solitario japonés recibe SMS del robot durante el día, interactúa con ella como si fuera su esposa, y disfruta de su compañía. Es algo un poco perturbador, pero es definitivo que tiene su público cautivo en las tierras asiáticas.

Para poder recibir los mensajes de texto como se ven en el video promocional, el usuario deberá registrarse en la aplicación Gatebox disponible para iOS y Android y así el asistente podrá enviar SMS a lo largo del día, incluso podría ser posible que le digas a a estas novias virtuales cuando vas a casa para que pueda tener el café, la cena caliente en el horno y la música que prefieres listo para tu velada.

Las novias virtuales Gatebox costarán unos 2.000 euros y actualmente pueden ya preordenarse, sin embargo no existe mucha información sobre su fecha oficial de llegado o si podría salir de las fronteras japonesas. Lo que si pudimos conocer con exactitud gracias a un reporte del sitio Geek es que utilizará sensores de calor, de humedad, y de luz para lograr todas las tareas que le coloque su novio o novia humana durante el día.
