Dubai quiere estar a un paso más adelante del resto y ser la ciudad inteligente por excelencia. De eso no hay duda, y ahora mucho menos que está por realizar pruebas con matrículas digitales en sus coches.
Se trata de un programa de la Autoridad de Carreteras y Puertos (RTA) llamado Tag to Conect que busca reemplazar la placa tradicional del coche por una inteligente que se compone de una pantalla digital.
El Director de Licencias de Vehículos de la RTA, Sultán Abdullah Al Marzouqui, informó al Khaleej Times que esta matrícula digital tendrá una amplia ventaja con respecto a las placas metálicas troqueladas como por ejemplo, la conectividad entre los vehículos:
“La placa digital también permitirá que los vehículos se conecten entre sí – por eso es Tag to Connect – lo que significa que los conductores pueden intercambiar información sobre la condición del tráfico o si hay un accidente en la carretera. Toda esta información se conectará al comando central sistema de la RTA”, explicó el sultán Abdullah.

Otros beneficios de esta placa inteligente es la renovación automática del registro del automóvil sin necesidad de ir a ningún centro de RTA. También tiene la opción de parpadear si alguien trata de robarla o al coche.
Las pruebas de estas matrículas digitales en los coches de Dubai comenzarán en mayo y culminarán en noviembre. Luego de evaluar si pueden sobrevivir al clima de la zona, serán lanzadas al público.
